egg とか endian で中を検索すると、確かに出てくる。

Whereupon the emperor his father published an edict, commanding all his subjects, upon great penalties, to break the smaller end of their eggs.
つまり、ガリバーがたどりついた小人国(Lilliput) は small-endian で、 対する敵国は big-endian ということか。
Intel(x86)=small-endian/IBM(PowerPC)=big-endian なのが、全然関係ないか。
